Notice of Administrative Penalty ("NAP")
NAPs are issued for Immediate Roadside Sanctions but are more commonly thought of as a "DUI" or "Impaired".
They are issued under the Traffic Safety Act (“TSA”) in Alberta and do NOT have criminal consequences;
however, the penalties can be severe.

IRS: Zero Novice - Issued to a GDL driver when an officer believes you are driving with ANY amount of alcohol
IRS: Zero Commercial - Issued to a driver operating a commercial vehicle and the officer believes you are driving with ANY amount of alcohol
IRS: WARN - Issued to a driver when an officer believes your blood alcohol content exceeds 50 mg%
